Melt in your mouth slow cooked chicken with dandelion greens and steamed zucchini
This recipe is the easiest way to cook chicken. You can put it into the slow cooker in the morning and have the most tender chicken in the evening when you come back home.
For this recipe I used free range chicken form the farmer's market in Kollwitzplatz.
So what I did was super simple. I mixed:
2 tbs ghee
2 tsp mustard
1 tsp zataar spice mix (optional)
juice from 1 lemon
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
salt to taste
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp freshly graded or ground ginger
1 tsp oregano
CUT a lemon in four pieces and place them at the botton of the slow cooker
Mix well and rub mixture onto the chicken, place chicken on top of lemon pieces. I fyou have any remaining spice ghee mixture put it all in the slow cooker.
Simply cover the slow cooker, put it on low, and come back to it after 8-10 hours.
One hour before eating chop any veggies, I used fennel wedges and place them in the slow cooker ideally under the chicken to be covered by the yummy broth that has now been juiced out of the chicken. Also at this point you can add some green olives.
After an hour serve and enjoy!
