I tried this recipe a few days ago and I must say, it was devine! I love my crock-pot, it is so easy to create healthy, hearty recipes. You just pop everything in, leave the house and come back to a warm, freshly cooked meal.

I wanted to try this recipe since forever so here we go. I adore the I QUIT SUGAR- 8 week program and one of my all time favourite cookbooks is this one which you have to get. It simply filled with SO many amazing recipes.

So here is how to make this one:

Ingredients

    Korean Pulled Pork

    • 6 cloves garlic, minced.
    • 2 tablespoons ginger, fresh, grated.
    • 2 long red chilli, finely diced.
    • 2 teaspoons cinnamon, ground.
    • 1 teaspoon cloves, ground.
    • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika.
    • 2 teaspoons fennel seeds.
    • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper.
    • 1 teaspoon sea salt.
    • 60 ml tamari.
    • 15 ml apple cider vinegar.
    • 30 ml ghee
    • 1.5 kg pork, shoulder, boneless.
    • 200 ml stock or water.

    Directions

Switch on your slow cooker on high (or your oven at 150)

In a bowl combine all ingredients for the Korean Pulled Pork except for the pork and the stock.

Put the pork shoulder in the slow cooker and pour over the mixture and the stock and make sure some sauce covers the meat.

Turn the crock pot on low and let it cook for at least 6 hours. At 6 hours open the lid and pull apart the pork, mix well with all the juices and let it cook for at least another hour on low.

Enjoy with some red cabbage slaw or put into a tortilla with avocado, yum!
